A paper cocktail “flavour map” rebuilt as an interactive 3D web menu: five Pernod Ricard classics plotted from sweet to bitter and citrus to boozy.

The spark

I saw a hand-drawn cocktail flavour map shared on X by @posvar and wondered what it would look like as a live brand experience. Pernod Ricard was one of my first clients back in media planning, so it felt right to start the series with them.

The idea

Five classics, each with a hero Pernod Ricard spirit: Whiskey Sour (Jameson), Paloma (Altos Plata), Espresso Martini (Absolut + Kahlúa), Old Fashioned (Jameson Black Barrel) and Negroni (Monkey 47). Each drink sits on a sweet ↔ bitter, citrus ↔ boozy grid. The positions aren’t vibes: they come from IBA recipes, using sugar, acidity and ABV after dilution. Tap a drink to open a bartender card with a 3D glass you can spin, and use the mood chips to filter.

The build

Images in Nano Banana Pro, 3D in Meshy 6 through FLORA’s new 3D nodes, with everything orchestrated through the FLORA MCP in Claude.

The problem

Image-to-3D can’t do clear glass. First try came out milky white; the second, with a see-through shader, turned into shards. Third try, I changed the vessel to a Japanese stoneware cup. I changed the glass, not the tool.

The detail that mattered

It only ran on iPad once everything was self-contained (three.js, models and posters inline) and every glass shared one WebGL renderer.
