The starting point

A personal exploration from when I just started exploring AI with Midjourney. My inspiration and references come from lived experience of culture, music, art and film. This was inspired by one of my favourite directors, Chris Cunningham, and his video for Björk’s ‘All Is Full of Love’.

The approach

Back in 2023, I was experimenting with prompting techniques to recreate things I loved from the past. I watched YouTube videos and joined Discord to learn Midjourney, that was my aha moment, realising the creative opportunity this opened up. I later used Seedance 2.0 to bring the imagery to life with subtle motion.

The result

A pair of moving portraits, made from watching my favourite Björk music video on repeat. That's still how I often start projects: find the reference, understand the mood, then open the tool.
