ASOS flipbook

Problem

I was inspired by 90's craft flipbooks and wanted to see if I could bring to life real product-page imagery in a fun and interesting way — one person flicking through looks the way you’d flip a lookbook.

The approach

I built a flip-book inspired animation from real ASOS product pages: I used several selfies of myself to create a consistent character in Gemini 2.0 (Nano Banana). I extracted outfits directly from the product page and re-dressed onto the character, then prompted the animation to switch outfits frame to frame in Seedance 2.0.

The result

A looping flip-book animation that turns static product photography into scroll-stopping motion. Although I chose Nike and Adidas outfits that were similar I should have probably spent more time curating outfits that fitted the same (e.g. all short sleeve) so the outfit change looked more seamless. Prompting a specifc style animation with 3 subjects was also tricky and would have possibly done them seperately but thought the outfit change across the three would not have worked.
